The Geelong Flier

by on May.17, 2011, under General

I just heard the news, that oldĀ Bob Davis, one of the best players of the Geelong Football club has just died. He was also a great stalwart and still active in the club. He played in grand finals in the 1950’s, and coached Geelong to victory in the 1963 grand final. It’s a very sad day from the old GFC.

But it had me thinking, because there has been a lot of talk around the town about the top 20 players and the local newspaper is trying to compile its list of players. Now I have not seen there selections, but decided to put together my own. You can make comments and tell me who should be included, or taken out!!! So don’t be afraid to feed back on this one! Here is my list!

2. Garry Ablett Jnr

Here’s a photo I took of Bob Davis, Fred Flanagan and the 2007 AFL premiership cup at the Gala Day parade in Geelong 2007.

    G,Day Mark,
I tend to agree with your selection of top 20 but I rekon Chappy and Peter Ricardi would have to rate pretty high .I must say I was saddened too when I heard of old Bob’s death today, he will be sadly missed by all.
    Cheers Dougie.
