Just hanging around

The summer weather has been pretty pathetic. As we watched half of Australia under flood water yet again, us here in the South pondered the fact that we never get any rain down here. We have just come through the worst drought ever recorded up until some decent rainfall towards the end of last year which was the first time we have had normal or above average in more than 10 years. But then the sky opened and it didn’t stop raining here for 5 days! Luckily we don’t have any flooding here, but we know plenty of people who are worried. And when I woke up the other morning and looked out my window, I was shocked to see water lapping at my door….
… then I remember, I was living on my boat! So I have not had much time in front of a computer since my last post, as I my family all went to Sydney for their summer holiday and I stayed here and relaxed on my own, getting lots of little jobs on the boat done, as well as the occassional dive when the weather has been warm enough. The boat is currenlty 2 hours from her home port down at Portarlington where I have been staying while not at work, then coming home just long enough to get my shifts at work done before heading back down there. I will bring her home next weekend.
Apart from work, we had the annual vintage rally here in Geelong and I drove the traction engine up and down the rally ground just for the amusement of it all. Not much else to report…
