Adaqua

I have been the proud custodian of the motor launch “ADAQUA” since 2003.

She was built in 1943 as a customs launch for the Queensland Government, and spent some time later in her life as a charter boat on the Gippsland Lakes in Easter Victoria. Her last custodian looked after her for 30 years before passing her to me.

People often ask me:

Do you do fishing charters? (I dont want fish guts on my decks thank you!)

So do you fish yourself? (Wouldn’t know how to get the slippery, slimy thing off my hook!)

So it’s a water ski boat then? (At 8 knots, you would need a ski the size of the Titanic!)

No no no…. its just a beer drinking boat! I steer out of the channel, engage the auto pilot (his name is Fred…) then sit on the top deck, open a can and watch the world slip by. Of course we are careful to remain under the alcohol limit so we can do it again tomorrow.  (Please don’t think I encourage drink driving)
