The new propeller gets wet!

by on Jul.03, 2010, under Adaqua

Oh, dear… the new propeller got wet! But don’t worry, the steering wheel is still dry! We’ve had a lot of rain recently, and I was thinking if it keeps this up for 40 days and 40 nights, Adaqua will not float with water coming in through the opening for the new toilet valve, and the stern gland. More beer please!

Now that I have your attention with the dramatic headline, the grounding was on the slipway at the yacht club! But first, did I tell you I am suffering through a month without beer? I don’t know how I will survive this, but it’s been 11 days now, and only 19 to go! (continue reading…)

Summer continues!

by on Apr.18, 2010, under Adaqua

We had a little cool patch last week, where the forecast top temperature was only 19 degrees. This prompted out local newspaper to write an article claiming a new record. Adaqua still not home!

by on Jan.26, 2010, under Adaqua

Hi! I came home and slept in my own bed which is something I had not done for ages. Adaqua is still down the coast at Portarlington waiting in a berth there in the marina while I came home for a friend’s Australia Day party. (continue reading…)

Adaqua’s trip to Melbourne

by on Jan.17, 2010, under Adaqua

We finally got away from it all and set our course for the 5 hour journey to Melbourne. The sea was a bit rough, but I promised the crew that the wind would go after the sun set. I was wrong! (continue reading…)

Adaqua New Year’s Eve Party 2009

by on Jan.03, 2010, under Adaqua

16 brave souls ventured down to the Geelong waterfront despite the threats from the weather bureau that said strong winds (from the worst direction) and later storms with thunder, lightning and all the trimmings. I told them before they came that there would be only a small chance that we would “put to sea” but it would still be a great place to party and still the best place in Geelong to see the fireworks. (continue reading…)
