Steam Yacht Ena didn’t sell!

by on May.22, 2015, under Steamships

Jonathan and Ena1 week after the auction, steam yacht Ena has not sold after failing to reach her reserve price. Her owner now tells me he might have to re-think the plan and have another try at making a go of it on the Melbourne market. I was disappointed we didn’t take her to tassie for the wooden boat festival and was thinking she won’t be around much longer for us to enjoy. But now that might not be the case. In other news, I have given up my job in Queensland. It all got to be too much, so I have resigned and will stay at home and sort things out. I was not happy with life in the camp which has almost nothing to do after hours unless you want to fight for an exercise bike in the gym with all the gym junkies who go there because there is nothing else to do.The chief engineer of Ena The travel didn’t suit me because travelling out west adds so much time to the journey that I loose a full day to get there and back again, then they always book me to fly out of Melbourne so early there is no transport to the airport meaning I must stay in a crappy airport hotel room the night before just makes it all too hard. My job in Brisbane got taken over by a local person which is much cheaper for the compnay who couldn’t afford to keep me. Oh well, something will come up, and I might have some time to finally take Edelweiss out for a run now that I will finally have some time to myself. I only had 3 days off in the last month! A bit unfair I think. So it was really time to leave. Thanks Origin. It was a great insight into what happens upstream of the LNG plants I have built in the past.
